Prevention and Foods

News about nutrition is constantly changing, so if you need more infomation check out "Prostate Health and Diet" on your computer or at the library. This is what we do know though to watch for and may help prevent prostate cancer. We know we can't help a family history of prostate cancer, or we served in Vietnam or are an African American, but an ounce of prevention for anyone of us is good. If you have any questions, people to consult with are: your doctor; your pharmacist, a health nurse or nutritionist. NEVER self treat yourself and watch out for food supplements, unless you have discussed the product with one of the professionals we noted. We know we need to cut back on grilled meats, too much fat, and eating too many dairy products. It's tough but we need to watch my zinc and calcium intake. Certain foods are good for me. A few foods and spices we know about are:

Avocado (mm good) Blueberry and Blackberries; Broccoli, Carrots, Cauliflower, Tomato, onions and peppers, whole grains and new for me, pomegranate, Garlic, sunflower seeds and walnuts are great.. How do we know about this stuff? My wife looked it up and my pharmacist helped me and my doctor told me so. At one of our recently sponsored free screenings at Beuhlers Fresh Foods we came across some recipes that we liked. We am looking for more recipes and if you have a favorite please send it to me. We will add them to our website for our other buddies to enjoy.

We have tried these healthy recipes for prostate health and like. If you have a special recipe, we will try it and add to this webpage to share. Here’s to prostate health!
